Dildo Size Comparison Chart: Browse Over 700 Dildos

Note: this page works best on desktop computers with large screens. If you’re on a phone, we recommend you turn the screen sideways or pinch to make everything smaller and easier to read. We have also hidden some fields on mobile screens to make the table easier to read. Click the “+” on any given dildo to see this condensed data.

This page is a companion to our guide to the best dildos. We highlight the best dildo for specific uses in that guide, but the dildo that’s best for you is going to be one that fits the exact length, girth, and price point you’re looking for. This table contains every body-safe dildo we could find, and is sortable and filterable for your convenience!

There are some additional comments and tips on using the table at the bottom of the page if you need more info on the criteria and selectors used.

One last note: some of the links on this page are affiliate links, which means we earn a commission if you buy through one of our links (at no extra cost to you). This took 70+ hours to compile, and if you do end up buying one of these toys we’d really appreciate it if you bought through this page to support us producing more great content like this.

Notes and Comments

Due to the sheer volume of dildos out there, some of this data may change over time. We’ll do our best to keep this up to date and 100% accurate, and if you see anything that looks off let us know and we’ll get it fixed ASAP!

We know we may have missed some dildos so far, particularly fantasy dildos (we’re still figuring out how best to categorize many of those). This is a work in progress.

Filters and Criteria

Here’s some more info on what we mean for those filters on the left of the screen.

Dildo Type

This is the rough shape of the dildo. Available types are:

  • Realistic – in color, texture, and feel.
  • Semi-realistic – generally a dildo that is phallic and has a head, but is either in non-realistic colors or the material isn’t realistic
  • Non-realistic – A toy that is still generally phallic, but is smooth, bulbed, or generally a shape that isn’t found in nature
  • Fantasy – sci-fi, animal, or wildly fantastic shaped dildos
  • Novelty – fun shapes like fruits & veggies, emojis, or even fist-shaped.
  • Wand – a curved or straight rod, generally with a clear handle
  • Dilator – smooth and with even thickness, for vaginal or anal dilation and stretching

Materials

  • Silicone – firm or medium-firm single density silicone. This is usually Shore A scale between 10 – 40 firmness.
  • Supersoft – extra squishy – but still single density – silicone, usually on the Shore 00 scale between 10 – 40 firmness.
  • Dual density – A firm silicone core with a squishy outer layer, to mimic the feeling of a real dick. This is usually the best overall material, but it is a bit pricier than regular silicone.
  • Triple density – like dual density, but with a 3rd very soft layer in the middle for extra ‘slidiness’ and realism. Very few toys are triple density, and they’re very expensive.
  • Borosilicate glass – durable glass, but has not been specially treated for added hardness. Most glass toys are standard borosilicate glass.
  • Annealed glass – glass that has undergone a special cooling process for extra durability. Annealed glass is 2-3x the cost of regular borosilicate. Can be soda lime or borosilicate glass.
  • Stainless steel – hard, firm, shiny, and polished. All steel dildos on this list are actually steel, and not just chrome-plated metal. Mostly wand-type dildos, along with the rest of the hard materials below.
  • Stone – specially treated and polished so as not to be porous or rough and jagged.
  • Wood – also specially treated to prevent porousness and avoid getting splinters in your sensitive parts.
  • Porcelain – there are a very few wand dildos made of cured porcelain.
  • Gold – there was even one dildo we found that was gold-plated for extreme luxury.

We did NOT include dildos made of any of the following materials because they are not body safe:

  • Jelly
  • PVC
  • TPR
  • TPE
  • Latex
  • Rubber

Basically, anything that isn’t silicone or a safe hard material didn’t make the cut.

This removes at least 50% of the dildos on the market (probably more), because we can’t in good conscience recommend toys that are porous and possible toxic to our readers.

The fact is that sex toy makers cut corners in an attempt to stay competitive, and as a result they sell cheap toys made of unsafe materials because customers simply don’t know better.

But we know better, and you deserve better. Read more in our sex toy materials guide.

Insertable Length (in inches)

Many dildos on this list are listed as being longer than our length measurements. That’s because we’re using only insertable length, or the length of the toy that you can actually put inside you for pleasure.

Most dildos lose between .5 – 2 inches due to the base of the toy. Realistic ball bases are particularly thick and generally take the most off the usable length of a toy.

Widest Point (diameter, in inches)

This one was tricky.

Due to the many dildos that are tapered, or have wide bulbous heads or knots in the middle of the toy, it’s hard to find one uniform measurement to gauge the thickness of your dildo. The widest point is often different from the average shaft diameter.

We opted to use the widest insertable diameter for a given toy.

Our reasoning was: if the head is 1.75 inches across, and the shaft is 1.5 inches across, you need to be able to take in that 1.75 inch head comfortably to even use the shaft.

Some tapered toys have the widest point quite low on the shaft, so you can even use a good 75% of the toy before hitting that extra-wide portion.

So it’s not a perfect metric by any means, but the vast majority of dildos have a widest point that is within 10% of the diameter of shaft of the toy, so it’s a pretty good approximation.

And if you haven’t noticed by now, we used the widest diameter – not circumference. This is because most standard dildos are generally round, so there’s a linear correlation between circumference and diameter, and based on feedback we got diameter is easier for most readers to understand at a glance.

This is also in inches. If there’s enough demand for a version in centimetres we’ll consider adding it – let us know!

Price ($)

There are a few makers on our listed located in the UK or EU, so we did our best to convert GBP or Euros into US dollars for the sake of consistency.

Keep in mind conversion rates will change over time, so the numbers we used today might not be the same a year from now.

Additional Dildo Features

Harness Compatibility

Most dildos on this list are harness compatible. Probably at least 60% or 70%.

There’s generally three types of strap on harnesses for dildos:

  • Interchangeable O-ring harnesses – generally versatile and flexible, as you can change the size of O-rings to fit the girth of your dildo. O-rings can generally work with standard flat circular bases, or even dildos with realistic balls bases.
  • Fixed O-ring harnesses – generally brief-style harnesses that only fit one size toy (usually 1.5″ diameter as it’s the most common).
  • Vac U Lock – a small hole in the base of the dildo. Originally pioneered by Doc Johnson, but many makers have adopted the standard. Vac U Lock compatible toys also work with special mounts, fucking machines, and suction cup attachments.

We differentiated between O-ring and Vac U Lock harness-compatible dildos. If your harness does not have an interchangeable O-ring size, make sure the size you have will fit the circumference of the dildo you want.

Suction Cup

Most dildos on this list have built-in suction cups, but there are some that have removable suction cups, as mentioned above with the Vac U Lock harness compatibility.

We haven’t made a distinction between the two yet, but for version 2 of this spreadsheet we plan to make it explicit which toys have a built in suction cup or a removable one (which sometimes also needs to be purchased separately).

G-spot / Prostate Stimulation

This feature is honestly a little all over the place. It’s hard to define when a toy is explicitly designed for g-spot or prostate stimulation, because most dildos will at least give some pleasure to those spots even if not designed for it.

Our general criteria for this feature was:

  1. A round, bulbed head that can rub against the prostate or g-spot during use
  2. An upward-curving shaft that allows the natural angle to give some extra stimulation.

Generally most dildos we listed with this feature have both of the above, but keep in mind this one was a little subjective.

Hard materials are going to be better at hitting these erogenous zones as they can pinpoint pressure better, and firmer silicone is similarly going to be better than supersoft or dual density toys.

Vibrating

We specified between dildos that have an optional bullet vibe and ones that have a dedicated internal motor.

Bullet vibe dildos have vibrations that are strongest at the base of the toy, and less strong at the tip. This is great for strapless strapons for the wearer’s benefit, but not as great for your standard dildo.

Dildos with dedicated internal motors are more like traditional vibrators with a soft silicone sleeve. But we included them in this list because they can be used a pure dildo even without the vibrator if you so choose.

Double Ended

We list two kinds of dildos as double ended:

  1. Strapless strap ons – as they have two sides: one bulbed side for the wearer to hold in place and a longer penetrating side for the receiver.
  2. Old fashioned double-enders that are long and snake-like. There’s also a good amount of steel, glass, and wood wands that are good double-ended dildos.

Shape

There were two general shapes we noticed during our research:

  1. Ribbed – any dildo that has multiple bumps, ridges, or even beads is counted as ribbed. Basically any dildo with more interesting surface texture than just realistic veins.
  2. Tapered – A dildo that has a narrow tip and gradually widens throughout the shaft of the toy.

Handle

This is reserved for dildos with a dedicated handle for you or a partner to get some leverage while thrusting. Not a super common feature.

Ejaculating Dildos

A few dildos on this list can also squirt with the press of a button or squeeze of a tube. They’re all refillable, and generally use some kind of water-based lube with additional coloring.

Inflatable Dildos

There are very few inflatable silicone dildos, as most are made of PVC or latex. We did not include any toys of those materials on this list as mentioned above, and the result is very few body-safe inflatable dildos.

Better safe than sorry though.

Wrapping Up

As mentioned above, this is a work in progress.

We’ll be doing a 2nd, updated version soon that incorporates:

  • Fantasy dildos
  • More clarity on strapless strap ons, suction cups, and vibrating dildos
  • Any brands or makers we missed in this first version
  • Some minor formatting fixes we’ve already noticed
  • Find a fix for filtering on mobile phones

If you see anything that needs changing / updating, please let us know!

And finally, if you do decide to buy a dildo on this list, we’d really appreciate if you buy through our affiliate links on this page.

This took over 70 hours to compile (just version 1), and buying through our links is the best way to support this website – at no additional cost to you!

We even went out of our way to try and find the cheapest price for many of these toys, so you get the best possible price when you do buy.

Thanks for reading, and we hope you find the truly perfect dildo 🙂
