There are two caveats to this rule:

1. Only use anal toys with a large or flared base to prevent the toy from pulling inside your ass. What Do Butt Plugs Do?

There’s 5 main uses for butt plugs in our experience:

What does it feel like? Do butt plugs hurt?

Inserting any anal toy should never hurt. There may be some very mild discomfort while you’re warming up, but never sharp pains. If you feel any pinching, back off and add more lube. If it still hurts, stop and try a smaller toy (or your fingers) first.

• Silicone – 100% cured / platinum / food safe / medical grade silicone. Watch out for shady foreign manufacturers passing off cheap, patented silicone blends with who-knows-what mixed in.
• Metal – Stainless steel & aluminum only. Watch out for chrome plated ‘metal’ butt plugs.

Depends on the material, but warm, soapy water is always a safe bet. Just make sure to get into all the nooks and crannies of the toy to eradicate any bacteria hiding in there.

Metal and glass toys can also be put in the top rack of the dishwasher for an extra-sterile cleaning.
