In our review of the best thick and large butt plugs on the market, we rated the Egg Plug as the best overall XL plug. But careful observers will notice a lot of the same features we love in the Egg Plug also appear in the Ergo plug.
So how does the Ergo plug compare?
Really favorably. The Ergo plug has basically everything you could want:
- Incredible thickness for a nice anal stretch
- 5 sizes to choose from to fit your experience level
- Available in medium-firm or supersoft ‘blubbery’ silicone
- T-base for secure all-day wear
But the Oxballs Ergo Plug even has one additional feature the Egg Plug doesn’t have: a contoured bulbed tip for additional prostate stimulation. This makes it a great large butt plug for guys.
The own downside of the Ergo Plug is that it’s not available in as many XL sizes as the Egg Plug. But unless you’re a super advanced anal toy user, the Ergo plug will be plenty big enough.
That’s why it’s a very close 2nd pick for best overall large butt plug, and a fantastic choice if you want some additional prostate stimulation.

- 5 Sizes ranging from "X-small" (1.3" wide) to the truly X-large (2.7" wide)
- Hits the P-spot: Thick and bulbous to provide great prostate stimulation, along with the bulbed tip for even more stimulation
- Great for extended wear: Soft silicone and a wide T-base keeps the Ergo comfortably in place
- Colorful: the traditional silicone plug is available in multiple bright color swirls, and the 'bluballs' supersoft is an amazingcolor
- Less size options than the Egg Plug
- Not great for vaginal DP - the T base gets in the way
- Store carefully - supersoft silicone is more prone to creases and tears compared to firm silicone

A Large Butt Plug Designed for Men
Although the Ergo Plug will provide great anal stimulation if you’re a guy or a girl, if you take a look around Oxballs’ website it’s pretty clear the plug (and many of their products) was designed with prostate stimulation in mind.
Warning: their site is super NSFW.
The curved, bulbous shape is clearly contoured in a way that’s designed to provide prostate stimulation. That’s not to say it won’t feel great in your ass if you’re a woman.
If pure prostate stimulation is your goal, you may want to opt for the firmer silicone as it’s going to target the prostate a little better than the blubbery soft silicone will. However, we feel the general thickness of this toy is responsible for most prostate stimulation.
The added bulb is nice, but not needed when you have a plug this thick.
Firm silicone is also better at transmitting vibrations, and the Ergo Plug is fantastic when paired with a powerful magic wand vibe for intense prostate orgasms. However the supersoft silicone will still feel great provided you have strong enough vibrations, and we love how comfortable the softer silicone feels.
The sizes also slant rather large compared to many other butt plug manufacturers:
wdt_ID | Size | Ins. Length | Max Girth | Weight | Price |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Small | 3.00 | 1.65 | 6 | 39 |
2 | Medium | 3.75 | 2.00 | 8 | 56 |
3 | Large | 4.75 | 2.30 | 13 | 76 |
4 | XL | 5.75 | 2.70 | 20 | 92 |
6 | XS | 2.75 | 1.30 | 3 | 32 |
You’ll note the XS plug is more of a traditional medium-sized butt plug, with 1.3 inches max girth. Still plenty approachable for a beginner, but not that small.
The Medium is definitely an intermediate-advanced level plug at 2″ max girth, and the Large/XL are both advanced sized plugs for experienced users only.
Here’s a size comparison in a single image:
As mentioned above, the Ergo plug also comes in regular density (firmer) silicone, and Oxballs own “blubbery” supersoft silicone.
- The regular silicone is available in more color options, and the extra firmness provides some more targeted p-spot stimulation and more of an anal stretch.
- The supersoft silicone is available in a dark grey “Smoke” color, as well as a limited edition “Blueballs” metallic blue at PeepShowToys. It has more give, so it’s easier for beginners to take bigger toys made of the supersoft. It’s also a bit more flexible and comfortable for long-term wear.
Great for Extended Wear & Anal Stretching
The Oxballs Ergo plug is not a beginner plug by its shape: there’s virtually no taper, as the plug starts out round and wide, and gets even bigger from there.
The kidney bean shape does give you a little bit of a taper and a slightly rounded point to work with for the initial insertion, but it’s not what we would call a beginner friendly shape.
So with that said, the Ergo plug is a great choice for an intermediate user with some experience looking to expand their anal horizons.
The aforementioned thickness provides an amazing anal stretch as it slides into place, and the neck on the plugs is thick enough to provide a good static stretch once inserted. But not too thick to be uncomfortable for long periods of time.
The T-base is one of the better designs we’ve seen – thin enough not to be uncomfortable, but wide enough to lock the butt plug in place once inserted and keep it from getting lost in your ass. The upwards-flared edges also contour nicely with your tailbone and perineum for a comfy long-term fit.
Oxballs Ergo Plug: Final Review
Put simply, the Ergo plug is one of the best-designed large butt plugs for guys we’ve reviewed.
Everything about it is great for long-term wear and prostate stimulation, making this one of the overall best butt plugs for guys as well. While it’s not strictly for guys – girls will get a fantastic fullness and stretch from it, too – the XL sizing and prostate bulb definitely slant it toward male use.
The only downside vs. the Egg Plug is that there are several sizes even bigger than the X-Large Ergo Plug, for those of you looking to really stretch the limits of your own ass.
With a variety of fun color patterns to choose from, supersoft and regular silicone, and 5 sizes to choose from you’ll have no problem find the perfect Ergo Plug to suit your needs!
